Bubbles drifting, birth and death, rise and fall...

Ribenna, colours corrected in PS. Sorry, I cheated again.

Brolly

The light setup, using a single brolly and A4 paper as the reflector. I found that the Jinbei strobe is actually more bang for the buck than the branded Elinchrom and Bowens. We all know that most of the strobes are made in China and India anyway. I cancelled my Elinchrom D-lite kit and obtained the Jinbei kit instead, so far so good, keep my finger crossed. The Milestone series do not provide auto power dumping feature, on the other hand, the Pilot series activate auto power dumping without flashing.

To my surprise there is an EMI problem with the flash, my laptop can sometimes trigger the radio receiver unit of Milestone flash. Nevertheless, this only happens once or twice.

Power repeatability is very commendable, verifying with my Sekonic meter, I am more than pleased with its performance, better than plus minus 1/10 stop. The only thing that needs further investigation will be the consistency of the flash colour temperature .

Note that I did not use a parabolic reflector on the strobe head, it is currently out of stock. :(

Shitty Face !!!

Uoops, what a shitty face, sorry I am getting so frustrated at taking a portrait of myself. Using the white background purchased from Alor Setar. Focusing on a pole (strobe stand not the sexy dancing pole), then pressing the timer, running to the position and acting cool. This is too much for me, believe me, it took 20 times, to get this still not very decent picture of me. B***tard. Either, I am half way in pic, or in the incorrect pose. :( Hopelesssss, I Gave up.

New Model

As usual, my housemate is always one of my early victims. This shot was taken using a single reflective silver brollie, (I like the contrast). Can't used colour, the bouncing light on the wall caused a colour cast. B&W is the way.

Softbox !!!! Home Studio.

Hey look 100cm x100cm softbox, captured at slow shutter speed. Looks like a large, large light to me. :) This one is equipped with an inner baffle, hence very soft light. Woops! 400ws analogue strobe tuned to 1/8 power. I have another strobe (digital), 600ws. Ummm, I am thinking that is just too powerful for my usage, better exchange it for lower power strobes. However, it is capable of tuning down to 1/16 of the power, unlike the previous where 1/8 is the minimum.

100cm x 100cm is consider to be a medium soft box. I have another box, 140cm x 70 cm, this is for full lenght portrait. 180mm x 180cm can be deemed as a large soft box, used for taking photos of a super car. :) Now that is big. The biggest soft box can be found in cloudy days, the clouds are acting like a giant baffle.
