Angel

By the way did I mention that I love photography? Recently, I acquired an Olympus E1 and I am gleefully shooting away since. I took this picture of the Wells Cathedral. I carefully metered for the sky to preserve the ominous clouds and then waited for the bird to appear. I named the picture "Angel", I think the lonely bird can be considered as a manisfestation of an angel. In the darkest hours, good will prevail. Enjoy.

SONAR Back In Ward.

After a few hours of ardous whining and negotiating with the manufacturer, it was dignosed that the SONAR suffers from an unknown disease. Suspected an LVDS chip failure or probably multiple faults. Consequently, it has to be warded again. According to the manufacturer staff, they can only look into the problem 3 weeks later. Hence, more time wasted. Can't they just get their a** up and stop passing the buck. Ummm.... Joke of the week: Why a company designs a SONAR that cannot be extended more than 1 m from the PC ? Answer: If your PC is waterproof, then it would not be a issue.

The University MacGyver

Mike is his name, a man of all trade, a very nice chap. This is the bloke you want to have around when you go for trials. He is in Gemma, I grapped the shot when waiting for the SONAR PC to boot.

Hot! Man in red.

Here is the beloved Professor. Thanks to him who volunteered to drive me to Coxsite for the SONAR test. Yes, he is not looking very happy, getting slightly impatient with the SONAR bug. What can I do when you get a dodgy product from a dodgy company. :(

Houston! We have a problem.

Needless to say, yesterday SONAR trial was a failure. Everything seemed fine the night before, cable connection checked, PC checked, power supply checked, SONAR checked and etc. Unfortunately, when arrived, it just malfunctioned, looks dead to me. This SONAR has been very problematic since the day it was received from the Manufacturer. Can you imagine, the SONAR delivery was delayed for 1.5 years !. There is no manual for it. I tried extending the cable length to 3m, the whole communication system just gave up. Called up to the company, answer obtained: 1 m is the maximum length for LVDS. In my mind, what is the use of a SONAR that can be in a maximum depth of 1 m.
