The PERFECT Shot by Wei Li

Taken by Wei Li. 100% pure "perfecto", of maximum technical and artistic purity achievable by homo sapiens. Notice the placement of the seaguy and the vessels, the perfect alignment of the horizon, together, they invariably manifest an unquantifiable flawlessness of the image. This is the climax, the pinnacle, the zenith of photography proficiency. Indeed it is the paragon of photography. Ansel Adams will be gobsmacked seeing this photo.

No criticisms are allowed except compliments. Be forewarned, only positive comments, as an admistrator I will have to delete any comments that implied negatism. My arse is on the line, please do not burden me any further. :)

High Key effect

They were positioned behind a window. It has been quite difficult to get a photo of Sarmin (the "boy") without his eyes closed or partially closed. I guess he suffers from a very high frequency of blinking. Mathematically speaking, this increased the probability (Damn, I kind of hate it! ) of capturing unsatisfactory shots. I know that you photoshop hardcores will suggest that a copy and paste job would ideally solve this problem. But as you can notice, true as I am, I am not a photoshop expert. As a final resort, I need to give him a que before I shoot. The result is a funny looking face, with the eyes adequately large to frighten a ghost, but innocent enough to seduce a girl, well, many girls. :)

40000 Volt electric SHOCK !!! Sarmin, no wonder you are stuck ! :)

Pondering

Super Model from China

Well, lately, I have been concentrating on learning the techniques of traditional classic portraiture as expounded by Joe Zeltsman. His book can be found in the web. Technically, these poses are categorised into Feminine and Basic poses. Each one have a full face, 3/4 face and profile perspective. Above is a feeble attempt to emulate his technique. Apparently, the model was very cooperative, not to mention pretty. Therefore, improving the vavavoom of my pic. :)

Round and Round and Round

Round is the world, busy is our life. Is there a beginning and an end or is it an infinite path ? Or is the start is the beginning? Sometimes, it reminds me of us so obsessed in searching for our "goal" but our goal is never what we really want? The real goal is actually where we currently stand.

I Want This, I Want That

What is a desire? Why do we want something? Does having the item, quench our thirst of wanting, or is it just another beginning of another wanting? How do we satisfy our desires? Can it be satisfied? If it can't, why do we keep on pursueing to satisfy it? We can train our mind to see the birth of a desire and observe its very nature.

The Three Mates

Testing the tone mapping technique, extracting the 12 bit raw data to deconstruct this picture. The original one suffers from a very dark foreground. Notice the lights shimmering through the clouds. I thought that was special.

Space...

This scene reminds me of Babylon 5 docking bay. Any Babylon 5 fans around ?

Plymouth WWII War Memorial

Birth and death are one. Some died in vain, some died with honour. I prefer to die in trying to find the truth.

Till Death We Part

Intoxicated, a mind goes wild, commiting crimes, violating morals and ethics. To beer or not to beer?

From China with Love

Wei Li, from China, another hardcore photographer. As you might have expected, she fell in love with my Olympus E1. My precious, my precious... Better keep the E1 near at all the time. Great crimes are commited in the conviction of love.
